(Δ 458). - To θάλλω etc, with Solmsen Unt. 37, Glotta 1, 80 first from an adj. *θαλύς, -ύ (only in θαλέων gen. pl. and θάλεια f. [δαῖς, ἑορτή]); on the formation Fraenkel Nom. ag. 2, 124, Chantraine Formation 41f.
